Tropea

Tropea is an impressive seaside town, with unparalleled scenery and an iconic clifftop positioning providing vistas over the turquoise ocean. It’s the most famous holiday destination in Calabria.

Pizzo

Pizzo is one of those quaint seaside towns that offers quintessential southern Italy. Imagine tiny streets, a hotchpotch of red rooftops, an abundance of ice cream parlours and sweeping blue sea views.

Scilla

A town straight out of myths, the ancient Greek legends say that it was home to the sea monster Scylla, one of the two monsters (alongside Charybdis) who guarded the Strait of Messina and terrorised Odysseus as he sailed the seas.

Reggio Calabria

Reggio’s main attraction is in no doubt its stretching ‘lungomare’, a spacious promenade along the seafront which was described as the most beautiful kilometre in Italy by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio.

Gerace

Gerace is a town positioned precariously on a plateau at 500m above the Ionian coast, with spectacular views out to sea from its unique vantage point, and often nicknamed the ‘Florence of the South’.

Stilo

Stilo, named as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, hosts spectacular views out to the Ionian coast. Famous for its Byzantine ‘Cattolica’ church above, the small town also boasts a Norman castle and beautiful historic centre.

Bova Superiore

Set at 820m high on a rocky hilltop at the foot of the Aspromonte mountains, Bova’s positioning offers unparalleled vistas around 360 degrees, towards the mountainous national park.

Amantea

Amantea is a bustling town and seaside resort on a long stretch of beach along the Tyrrhenian coastline, within the Cosenza province. It is the old part of the town (il centro storico) which we would recommend strolling around.

Fiumefreddo Bruzio

The small village of Fiumefreddo (Cold River) is a perfect combination of charming old streets, an imposing castle and spectacular views out to the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Badolato

The teetering old town dominates the hillside and is full of winding medieval streets. Take the road which climbs towards the town from Badalato Marina and you will be treated to an impressive view of the unspoilt village.
